New Zealand moved out of full-scale lockdown back to alert level three this week but sport, as we knew it, still ceases to exist.

Golfers, tennis players and lawn bowlers have been able to return in a restricted form but competitions of any form remain absent.

The first code sports fans will see back on their screens still looks to be rugby league.

But the NRL's planned return date of May 28th is yet to be a sure thing, with several key factors still being discussed and finalised.

Adding to the headaches for the NRL is a handful of players breaking social distancing rules.

RNZ sports' Clay Wilson is joined by RNZ sport columnist Hamish Bidwell, RNZ rugby reporter Joe Porter and RNZ sports editor Stephen Hewson to look at the ongoing saga of the NRL resumption, and assess the financial position of New Zealand Rugby.
