The New Zealand golfer Sir Bob Charles has ended his long and distinguished international career with a double bogey six on the 18th hole at Carnoustie in Scotland, missing the British Seniors Open cut.

The winner of the 1963 British Open says retiring from competitive golf wasn't a difficult decision.

Sir Bob says he'll continue to play the Legends of Golf tournaments for the next few years.
