Warriors up to 6th after courageous win

6:39 am on 12 July 2010

The Warriors coach Ivan Cleary struggled to recall a more courageous performance than last night's in Sydney held out Penrith with a sustained defensive effort to win 12-6.

The most telling statistics from their fouth straight win in the NRL were the 62 tackles made by their tireless lock Micheal Luck, and Penrith's 59-8 advantage in tackles made inside the opposition's 20 metre zone.

Despite those statictics and a lopsided 11-3 penalty count against the Warriors, Penrith's only points came from a dubious try just before the break.

The Warriors are up to 6th place, two points behind third-placed West Tigers.
