Platini faints in South Africa

The head of European football, UEFA President Michel Platini, was taken to hospital in Johannesburg on Friday night after fainting in a restaurant.

A UEFA official says the former French international player and coach is fine but was suffering from a cold and a bit of flu and fainted before eating.

Platini was kept at the hospital overnight for observation as a precautionary measure.
