Two leading American golfers, the world number 11 Anthony Kim and a former U.S. PGA champion David Toms have withdrawn from next week's British Open at St Andrews.
Their replacements are fellow Americans Ricky Barnes, who tied for second at last year's U.S. Open, and veteran Davis Love.
Prize money for the 150th Open has been increased substantially this year, partly because of the pound's weakened position against the US dollar.
The winner will receive 1.5 million dollars from a total purse of 10.4 million dollars.
