Warriors front rower James Gavet is set to leave the New Zealand rugby league team effective immediately.
James Gavet has signalled his departure from the Warriors after a message he posted to his Instagram account today.
The Samoan international posted a photo of himself outside of Mount Smart Stadium captioned: "Thanks for the ride fam OUTTA-HERE".
It's understood the 29-year-old could be leaving New Zealand to take up a 2-year contract with the Newcastle Knights with Gavet having asked for a release from the remaining year of his contract with the Warriors.
Today's post signals the Auckland-based club have agreed to the release.
Gavet played 42 matches in total for the Warriors and made 19 appearances for the side last season.
