Japan have pulled off an upset in their opening game at the World Cup football finals, beating the talented African side Cameroon 1-nil in Bloemfontein.

Keisuke Honda scored the only goal towards the end of a dour first half, to give Japan it's first win in a World Cup on foreign soil, after they'd lost their last four friendly internationals in their lead up to the tournament.
