The newest All White, defender Winston Reid, hardly has time to settle into the New Zealand football camp before he may be called into action against Australia on Monday.
Reid arrived in Auckland only early Thursday from Denmark, where he's lived since he was 10.
Auckland-born of Maori ancestry, Reid's eligible for New Zealand as he's only played for Denmark at age group level, but he says choosing between New Zealand and Denmark took time.
So did his flight Down Under - Reid was delayed in London for several days when volcanic ash disrupted flights again.
Although he's lived in Denmark since he was 10 and played under-19 and under-21 football for Denmark, Reid is Auckland-born and eligible for New Zealand because he hasn't played for his adopted country's senior side.
He says choosing between New Zealand and Denmark took time as he's lived in both countries nearly half his life but he thinks he's made the right decision.
In March he made himself available for the All Whites and was on the training pitch at North Harbour stadium a few hours after arriving in Auckland.
He says although he was tired it was good to start working off the jet lag.
Reid and the team-mates he hadn't met before leave for Melbourne tonight to play Australia on Monday night.
