Cricket:Sodhi joins Carribean Premier League

10:40 am on 4 September 2018

The Black Caps legspinner Ish Sodhi will play for the Jamaica Tallawahs for the remainder of the Carribean Twenty20 cricket league.

Sodhi will replace Adam Zampa who is returning to Australia for the start of the domestic season.

Sodhi has played 26 T20 Internationals for New Zealand, claiming 36 wickets at an average of 19.33 and at one stage was the world's top ranked T20 bowler.

He was surprisingly overlooked in for the Indian Premier League auction in January but did end up joining the Rajasthan Royals as an injury replacement and played six games for them this year.

The Tallawahs have qualified for the knockout stages of the CPL and have one group game remaining.

The final is on September 16th.
