The New Zealand women's hockey team are lamenting some crucial lapses in concentration after a late goal cost them victory in the second test against India in Palmerston North this afternoon.
The Blacksticks were leading 2-1 through goals from Piki Hamahona and Charlotte Harrison, before the visitors equalised from a corner with just three minutes remaining.
Captain Kate Mahon says they created enough chances to win the game but need to improve their execution.
She says hopefully the team can take some confidence from their improved performance into Wednesday's third test in Napier.
India lead the five-match series 1-nil after winning the opening test 3-2 on Saturday.
