Nonu must do school visit after swearing in interview

The All Blacks and Hurricanes midfield Ma'a Nonu will have to do a school visit as part of his punishment for repeatedly using foul language in a radio interview.

Nonu's comments were made immediately after the Hurricanes win over the Chiefs last weekend.

The NZRU's general manager of professional rugby, Neil Sorensen, met with Nonu today and says the incident constitutes a breach of the players employment agreement.

He says while he's disappointed by Nonu's behaviour he has taken responsibility for his actions and issued a public apology.

Sorensen says Nonu will have to carry out a community project as part of his punishment, including a school visit to talk about the responsibilities of being a professional rugby player.
