Tiger Woods hardly caused a ripple on the first day of the Quail Hollow championship in North Carolina, his second start this year on the PGA tour.
Woods had only nine pars in a mixed round of 74, two over par, and he's in an unfamiliar position, tied for 87th, 9 strokes behind the leader Bo van Pelt.
New Zealand's Tim Wilkinson, who withdrew after the opening round of last week's PGA tour event, has made a fast start to be 3-under par after 6 holes, in a tie for 6th place.
