The Queensland Firebirds snapped the winning streak of the Melbourne Vixens in emphatic style with a 62-41 win in the sixth round of the trans-Tasman netball competition in Brisbane.
The Firebirds turned the tables on a seven-goal loss to the Vixens in round two to bring the unbeaten defending champions back to earth with a thud.
Following an opening of three losses, the Firebirds have followed up with three wins with yesterday's the most complete as they re-established their credentials as top-four prospects.
New South Wales, who have a bye this weekend, now top the standings on goal difference from the Vixens, with Queensland up to 4th behind the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic, who also have a bye.
