The New Zealanders were outclassed 3-nil by top seeds Uzbekistan in their Asia Oceania Group decider in Bahrain.
Uzbekistan go on to the semi-finals, while the New Zealanders tournament is over.
The top two teams at the 14 team tournament earn promotion to Asia Oceania Group 1 for 2019
New Zealand will play Pakistan for 5th and 6th tonight.
Meanwhile New Zealand doubles player Artem Sitak and his Dutch partner Wesley Koolhof have been beaten in the quarter finals at the ATP tournament in Montpellier ,France.
