The double Rio Olympic medallist Lisa Carrington and her K2 500 partner Caitlin Ryan have made a fast start at the world kayaking champs in Racice in the Czech Republic.

They've comfortably won their heat to go straight through to the final.
It was a doubly important win in the fastest time of the day managing to beat the highly-rated Germans while also meaning Carrington avoided a semifinal race to add to her already busy schedule.
Carrington also got her K1 500m title defence off to a solid start finishing second in both her heat and semi-final to advance to the final.
