The New Zealand basketball star Sean Marks will undergo surgery tonight and will miss the remainder of the NBA season.
Marks has missed the New Orlean Hornets last few matches after suffering the injury.
The 9-year veteran is on a one-year deal with the Hornets and how successful the surgery is on his shoulder will determine what future he has in the League.
The 6 foot 10 forward-centre has played just 14 games this season.
