Parker won Fury's former belt - the WBO, after he beat American-Mexican Andy Ruiz Jr in a majority decision in Auckland on Saturday night.

Meanwhile Joshua defended his IBF world title, another belt Fury used to hold, in a short lived match against Eric Molina on Sunday.

Fury, who defeated Wladimir Klitschko last year to win three of the four world titles, was stripped of the WBO and WBA world heavyweight belts earlier this year due to ongoing mental health and drug abuse issues.

The 28-year-old lost the IBF title shortly after his fight with Klitschko after agreeing to a rematch with the Ukranian rather than taking on Joshua in the mandatory challenge for the belt.

In a series of tweets following Joshua's win over Molina on Sunday, Fury called the new World Champions a bunch of bums and said he was glad to have left the professional boxing scene.

In the past Fury has publicly supported Parker's boxing quest and even messaged the New Zealand heavyweight following his win on Saturday night to congratulate him.
