Jamie Whincup continued his dream run in the Middle East by making it three wins from as many starts in 2010 with victory in the opening race at the Desert 400 in Bahrain.
The Team Vodafone ace, who took maximum points from the season opening event in Abu Dhabi last weekend, was never headed at the Bahrain International Circuit as he led the 200 kilometre race from start to finish.
It's Whincup's 36th race victory, equalling the tally of Ford great Allan Moffat and moving him into a share of sixth on the overall standings for career race wins.
Ford's Mark Winterbottom was second, while Whincup's teammate Craig Lowndes battled from an eighth place start to finish in third.
New Zealand's Shane van Gisbergen, who was starting on the front row of a V8 Supercar grid for the first time, continued his strong start to the season to come in fifth.
