David Fusitu'a scored the first two tries for the Kiwis, who led 6-4 at half time, before falling behind in the second half.

The New Zealanders came back and appeared to have sealed the win with two late tries to Gerard Beale.

Scotland scored in the last couple of minutes, however, and kicked the conversion to grab the draw and a share of the points.

Kiwis coach David Kidwell said he was proud of how the Kiwis came from behind before letting Scotland draw level.

"We were behind by two points and the way the boys came back with those two tries," he said.

"Obviously the conditions, kicking the goals, made it pretty difficult, but Scotland really deserved their draw against us."

Kidwell said his stand-off Thomas Leuluai had broken his jaw in two places.

The New Zealanders now have three points in the competition, one ahead of England, and will make the final unless England upset Australia in their last game on Monday morning.
