The All Blacks lock Brodie Retallick won't play against Ireland in Chicago next weekend because of concussion.
Retallick suffered a head knock in the All Blacks historic 37-10 victory over Australia at Eden Park last weekend and has failed to recover in time for next weekend's match.
Hurricanes and Wellington lock Vaea Fifita will travel as injury cover for Retallick.
The All Blacks will be without both of their starting locks for the Chicago test as Sam Whitelock has also been ruled out with a high ankle strain, meaning the All Blacks will lose 139 caps worth of experience against the Irish.
Crusaders lock Luke Romano and Blues big man Patrick Tuipulotu are expected to start in their place while young Canterbury lock Scott Barrett will most likely make his first start in the black jersey from the bench.
