The New Zealand cricket captain, Dan Vettori, says it's disappointing to have lost the pace bowler Andy McKay for the the Test against Bangladesh, starting in Hamilton tomorrow.
McKay has a minor foot injury and Vettori says he'd been a point of difference in the attack.
He says the Bangladesh test would've been a good chance to the quick left-armer to get in some long spells of bowling in preparation for the Australian series, for which it's hoped he'll be fit.
The Black Cap selectors spokesman, Mark Greatbatch, says it'd have been unwise to risk aggravating McKay's injury for the sake of a one-off Test.
Brent Arnel of Northern Districts replaces McKay.
