The New Zealand women's hockey team will look to develop new players during their three-match Test series against Australia starting in Perth on Sunday.
With several senior players out injured and others joining clubs overseas, coach Mark Hager says he'll take the opportunity to build some depth into the squad in preparation for a busy year.
After Australia the women's Black Sticks have two home series followed by three major international tournaments, and Hager says it's time for the younger players in the side to step up.
