NZ women beaten by USA

The New Zealand women's sevens team were beaten by the USA, but still qualified for the cup quarter-finals at the Atlanta leg of the World Series.

The New Zealand women defeated Japan 38-5 and Spain 10-5 in pool-play, but were upset by the USA 12-5.

A last-minute try by America's Jessica Javelet thwarted the reigning champions at Kennesaw State University.

In Sunday's quarter-finals England face Russia, Canada take on Fiji, the USA meet Australia while France play New Zealand.
