The Wellington Phoenix are one win away from securing a home final in the A-league football championship after a 1-nil win last night over Gold Coast.
Referee Mathew Breeze was booed off Skilled Park for awarding a stoppage time penalty in the first half that resulted in the only goal of the match, scored by Paul Ifill.
The Phoenix are now in fourth place and they're confirmed for the playoffs, while Gold Coast's first loss since mid-December means they have to beat North Queensland Fury in the last round of the regular season to have a chance of finishing in the top two.
