Tuqiri signs with the NRL's Tigers

After months of speculation, former Australian rugby player Lote Tuqiri will make a return to rugby league after signing a three-year deal with NRL club Wests Tigers.

Tuqiri quit league for rugby in 2002, but was sacked by the Australian Rugby Union last year after he breached team rules while on his last warning.

The 30-year-old completed the code switch in Leicester where he's playing club rugby, after the Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys flew to the UK to secure the dual international's signing.

Humphreys says Tuqiri's a great endorsement for the club and its prospects for the 2010 season.

Tuqiri says he received interest from a number of league clubs which made the decision harder, but he's glad to have his future settled.
