Eden Park to host Kiwis double header

New Zealand will stage its biggest rugby league event in more than 20 years after confirmation that Auckland's Eden Park will host a Four Nations doubleheader on November 6th, when the Kiwis play Australia after England plays Papua New Guinea.

The NZRL will host four of the seven matches and is set to stage one of the first big events at the fully re-developed Eden Park, almost a year ahead of the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

The tournament will start with New Zealand playing England in Wellington on October 23rd, followed by their second pool game against Papua New Guinea in Rotorua on October 30th.

The final will be in Brisbane on November 13th.

The NZRL's chief executive Jim Doyle says the double header will be rugby league's biggest event in New Zealand since the 1988 World Cup final.

That match drew a crowd of just over 47,000 at Eden Park, which will have a capacity of 50,000 on November 6th.
