Manchester United win vital for title hopes

Manchester United have come away from a must-win encounter with Arsenal with three points after a 3-1 away win in the English football Premiership.

United and Arsenal both needed a win to stay in touch with table leaders Chelsea, but it was United who dominated the match for the full 90 minutes, leading 2-0 at half time.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney says his side knew they couldn't come away from Emirates Stadium with anything less than a win.

Chelsea top the Premier League standings on 54 points, one ahead of United and five clear of Arsenal, with a game in hand on both rivals.
