Lee started the day in outright first place as he chased his second PGA title, but mixed six bogies with four birdies to card a two over par 73 and finish 11 under for the tournament in outright fourth.

The Rotorua product was three shots behind the winner, Japan's Hideki Matsuyama, who beat the American Rickie Fowler in a sudden death playoff.

Fowler matched Matsuyama hole for hole until the fourth extra hole, the 17th, when he put his ball in the water, allowing the Japanese to par it for the victory.
