South African rider Jay Thomson's won the third stage of the Cycle Tour of Wellington, finishing the leg from Masterton to Pahiatua ahead of Australia's Michael Matthews and local rider Jermey Yates.
New Zealand's Michael Torckler still leads overall by 5 seconds from Australian Lachlan Norris after finishing the 164-kilometre leg in the pelaton.
The cycle tour finishes on Sunday.
