The gallery following David Smail in Thursday's opening round of the New Zealand Open golf championship got their money's worth as the 2001 champion and his American playing partners produced a spectacular 18-hole exhibition at The Hills in Arrowtown.
Smail played with PGA tour veteran Jay Delsing and 33-year-old DJ Brigman, who's been on and off the PGA tour three times.
The trio birdied 15 of the 18 holes, and had a total of 17 birdies for the round.
