Former sprinter Allyn Condon will join an exclusive club of Britons to compete at both summer and winter Olympics after being named on the four-man bobsleigh team for next month's Vancouver Games.

Condon, 35, who competed at the Sydney Olympics, took up bobsleigh four years ago after watching the movie Cool Runnings.

He will emulate the feat of Marcus Adam, who ran the 200 metres in Barcelona in 1992 and was in Britain's bob 10 years later in Salt Lake City.

Condon, a four by 100 metre relay gold medallist at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, says the main criteria in bobsleigh are speed and strength so it's a natural progression for athletes.

The British two-woman bobsleigh world champions also come from a track and field background.

Nicola Minichiello was a former heptathlete while her brakewoman in the two-woman bob Gillian Cooke took part in pole vault at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
