Semi-finalists decided at Auckland Open

The semi-finalists have been confirmed at the ASB women's tennis classic in Auckland.

The third seed Caroline Wozniacki will face American fifth seed Sloane Stephens after both women won their quarter final matches in two sets.

Wozniacki made short work of her Romanian opponent Alexandra Dulgheru, beating her 6-1, 6-0.

Meanwhile Stephens was made to work a little harder against her Brit opposition Naomi Broady, winning 7-6, 6-3.

Austrian Tamira Paszek was the first through to the final four after beating Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium in three sets early on day four of the tournament.

Paszek won the first set 6-4, dropped the second 6-7 but bounced back to take the third 6-3.

She will play Belgian Julia Goerges who beat Japan's Nao Hibino to advance.

Goerges lost the first set 6-7, but then took the next two 6-2, 6-4.

The first semi-final is scheduled to start no earlier than 5pm this evening, however, thunderstorms are forecast later in the day which could potentially delay play.
