King Turner beaten in Australian Open qualifying

The New Zealand tennis number one Dan King Turner has been beaten in the final round of qualifying for the Australian Open.

King Turner was beaten in straights 6-4, 7-6 by Louk Sorenson of Ireland, who is ranked in a similar position.

It means there is just one New Zealander in the main draw for the Australian Open which starts on Monday with women's number one Marina Erakovic to play 16th seed Li Na of China in the first round of the women's singles.
