The Wellington Phoenix football side toughed out trying weather conditions and put up a solid second half performance to secure a 3-0 home win over North Queensland Fury - their third win in a row in football's A-League.
New striker Eugene Dadi scored his third goal in just two matches right after half-time, his header opening the Phoenix's account in a match played in driving wind and rain.
But Dadi didn't have a chance to score another goal after he clashed heads with the Fury's Matt Smith and had 15 stitches to close a cut just under his right eyeborw.
Strike partner Paul Ifill then got into the action with a drive from the 18-yard box before defender John McKain sealed it with another header in extra time.
The win moves the Phoenix back into the top four and means they'll be in the top six play-off zone regardless of other results at the end of the weekend.
It also extends the Phoenix's unbeaten run in Wellington to 16 games.
The Phoenix are now hoping their good form will follow them to Australia over the next two weeks when they meet Perth and Melbourne.
