NBA player suspended after taking guns into locker room

The Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas has been suspended indefinitely by basketball's NBA pending investigation into an incident in which he took guns into the team's changing room.

NBA Commissioner David Stern says while it's clear Arenas will ultimately be suspended for a lengthy period or perhaps worse, his ongoing conduct has led me to conclude that he is not currently fit to take the court in an NBA game.

The player met with federal prosecutors earlier this week to explain why he took several weapons into the locker room.

Arenas says the weapons were unloaded and he has yet to face charges.
