Australian swimming coach Mark Regan has been appointed the new head coach for Swimming New Zealand, after Olympic successes with Australia and Denmark.
Regan says he chose to give up elite coaching in 2008 after taking the Denmark swimming squad from a relatively low world standing to Olympic and World Championship medals.
But he says the challenge of doing the same for New Zealand was too good to pass up, and Regan has already set number of goals for the New Zealand swimmers.
Mark Regan replaces Jan Cameronas coach, who will focus on her role as Swimming New Zealand's general manager of performance and pathways .
