Recuperating paceman Brett Lee is hoping to return to the Australian cricket team for the world Twenty20 championship in West Indies in May.
The 33-year-old former test spearhead says last month's elbow surgery has proved the most painful of his many operations.
One of only four Australians to take 300 Test wickets, Lee missed the entire 2009 Ashes series after battling a side injury for most of the series.
However Lee returned to action in the one-day series in England and the Champions Trophy in South Africa before breaking down with the elbow complaint during the one-day series in India in October.
