The All Whites striker Shane Smeltz is on the New Year's shopping list for several football clubs from Asia and Europe.
Smeltz scored his second hat-trick of the season against Brisbane Roar last weekend to take his tally to 18 - three more than the previous A-League season record with seven rounds still to play.
Smeltz's agent Leo Karris says that's prompted several inquiries the 28-year-old's availability, with the January transfer window about to open.
Karris says while Smeltz is keen to keep playing right up until the start of the finals in South Africa in June, he's not desperate to leave the Gold Coast.
Smeltz has a clause in his contract that allows him to move overseas should a club offer him a contract he wishes to take up.
He also has a German passport which would make him an attractive proposition for clubs based in the European Union, as there would be no visa-related issues to prevent a move.
