Warriors go down to the Broncos

The home side trailed for most of the match before coming back in the second half only for the Broncos to seal the win with a late penalty and a try on the stroke of full time.

McFadden said his team did well to come back from a 16 point half time defecit, but conceded the didn't take their match winning chances and deserved to lose.

The unbeaten Knights top the table, while the Warriors are 9th with 2 wins and 2 losses.

The Warriors were outscored four tries to three by the Broncos.

The match doubled as a celebration of the Warrior's National Rugby League debut 20 years ago against the same side.

The Aucklanders lost the inaugural game, but the Warriors have beaten the Broncos at Mount Smart Stadium the last 5 years in a row.

The Broncos scored three first half tries to Corey Oates, Lachlan Maranta, Jarrod Wallace for a 16-nil half time lead.

The Warriors answered with three of their own in the second half to Chad Townsend, Matthew Allwood, Solomone Kata to level the ledger at 16-all.

Corey Parker kicked a penalty for the Broncos in the 75th minute to take a two point lead before his team forced the Warriors into a line drop-out with 30 seconds remaining.

Shaun Johnson's short drop out was knocked back over the Warriors' try line which Andrew McCullough swooped on to score.

After four rounds the Warriors are 9th on the table while the Bronco's are 4th.
