Batting first, Scotland made their highest Cup score of 318 for eight at Saxton Oval, led by a big knock of 156 from opening batsman Kyle Coetzer.

But led by their opener Tamim Iqbal's 95, the Bangladeshis got home on the first ball of the 49th over, finishing on 322 for four, with middle order batsman Shakib Al Hasan hitting a four for the winning runs.

First drop Mahmudallah's 62 and Mushfiqur Rahim's 60 kept Bangladesh well on track to reach the 219 required after Iqbal's efforts, then Sabbir Rahman (42) and Shakib Al Hasan (52) put on a 75-run partnership to take their side home.

Bangladesh need to also beat either England or New Zealand in their final pool matches to squeak into the quarters.
