Liam Reddy to keep for Wellington Phoenix

It is understood that the Wellington Phoenix has signed Brisbane Roar goalkeeper Liam Reddy as Mark Paston's replacement for the rest of the A-League football season.

The move has had to come quickly, with Paston ruled out of the remainder of the competition after undergoing surgery on a fractured knee.

Liam Reddy's experience means he's likely to gain the number one keeping spot over the Phoenix's current second keeper Reece Crowther, with coach Ricki Herbert describing 21-year-old Crowther as a player of the future.

Reddy has played first-class football in Australia since 2000, but was dropped as Brisbane's first keeper in mid-October after an inconsistent start to the season.
