Formula One legend Michael Schumacher has been discharged from hospital to continue his recovery at home, although details about his condition have been kept secret.

A brief statement issued by his manager says the 45 year-old, seven times world champion has been making progress in the past weeks and months, but he still has "a long and difficult road ahead."
Schumacher suffered severe head injuries in a skiing accident in the French Alps late last year, and after emerging from a coma in June he was flown to Lausanne where he had nearly three months treatment in a hospital which specialises in the recovery of severely traumatised patients.
The BBC's Formula One correspondent James Allen says the good news is that no alterations to Schumacher's mansion have been required to accomodate him or any specialist equipment.
