Commonwealth Games mountainbiking champion Anton Cooper has finished second in the latest World Cup under-23 race in New York.
Frenchman Jordan Sarrou rode solo for the second half of the race to take a comfortable victory.
Cooper also went solo in second place and admits he got concerned.
The 19-year-old says he was feeling his legs after the first few laps, but they came right and he was able to hold off the challengers.
Cooper is eighth in the overall standings.
Fellow New Zealanders Samuel Blenkinsop, Brook MacDonald and George Brannigan finished fourth, fifth and eighth respectively in the senior men's downhill.
