The South African golfer Tim Clark stormed home with five late birdies to pip the American veteran Jim Furyk by one stroke at the PGA Tour's Canadian Open in Montreal.

It was Clark's second victory on the Tour, where he's also had 12 runner-up placings.

Elsewhere the German golfer Bernhard Langer sealed a remarkable record-breaking victory in the Senior British Open with a 13-shot margin after leading the event for all four rounds at Royal Porthcawl in Wales.

The dual US Masters champion took an eight-shot lead into the final round, and he eclipsed Bob Charles' previous record set at Turnberry in Scotland in 1989 by six shots.
