The New Zealand cricket all-rounder Corey Anderson says a fast-growing rivalry between him and Jimmy Nessham can only be good for the Black Caps.

Anderson missed out on the Test series victory over the West Indies, but is expected to play alongside Neesham in the two Twenty20 internationals starting on Sunday.

Anderson's last regular cricket was the IPL in May.

He says if it wasn't for a slight neck injury that kept him out of the first Test, the whole series could have gone differently for him.

However Anderson says the rivalry between him and Neesham is great for New Zealand cricket.

The Black Caps have retained the players that were a part of the Test squad for the T20 matches.

There is a possibility that Neesham, who was in exellent batting form in the Test series, will open the innings in the shortest version of the game.
