Renault could be next to leave F1

The French carmaker Renault will decide by the end of the year whether or not to stay in Formula One after a race-fixing scandal that has badly damaged the team's reputation.

Renault ended the 2009 season racing under a suspended permanent ban for their involvement in a race-fixing controversy which resulted in its former principal Flavio Briatore being barred for life.

Toyota's withdrawal yesterday leaves only three manufacturers in formula one, and Ferrari have compared the disappearance of leading manufacturers from the sport to an Agatha Christie murder mystery, with the finger of guilt pointed at former FIA president Max Mosley.
