A try in extra time has given the Queensland Reds a 38-31 win over the Highlanders at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium.
Celebrating halfback Will Genia's 100th Super Rugby match, the Reds scored three tries to lead 21-0 at half-time before a spirited Highlanders' fight back.
The visitors ran in four tries in the second half through Lima Sopoaga, Richard Buckman, Patrick Osborne, Fumiaki Tanaka to level the scores at 31-31, before the Reds' Jake Schatz scored his second after the hooter to steal the win.
The victory snapped the Reds' six-game losing streak, but the Highlanders have kept their slim playoff hopes alive by picking up two bonus points to move up to fourth on the ladder.
