Spurs torch Thunder again

The San Antonio Spurs have put the Oklahoma City Thunder to the sword, winning game two 112-77 to tighten their grip on the NBA basketball competition's Western Conference finals series.

The All-Star point guard Tony Parker scored a team-high 22 points and Danny Green poured in seven three-pointers for his 21-point total, to help the Spurs to a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Spurs, aiming for a return to the NBA finals, outshot their opponents by 50 percent to 39 from the field.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook led the Thunder with 15 points each but, for the second straight game, they sorely missed the shot-blocking skills of forward Serge Ibaka, who is out for the rest of the playoffs with a calf injury.

The performance of the New Zealander Steven Adams was one of the few bright spots for the Thunder as he added nine points and eight rebounds.

Game three is in Oklahoma City on Monday.
