New Zealand Football wants to host the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup.
The code's governing body has lodged an expression of interest, and with the 2015 FIFA Under 20 Men's World Cup just a year away in this country, NZ Football CEO Andy Martin says the time is right to look seriously at hosting the pinnacle women's tournament.
That would also likely bring with it the FIFA Under 20 Women's World Cup in 2018.
New Zealand Football is working closely with government and local councils to assess feasibility before a final decision is made on placing an official bid at the end of June.
