Burnley all but promoted to the Premier League

Burnley have all but sealed a place in English football's Premier League after a nervy 1-0 win at Blackpool in the second-division Championship.

The result keeps Blackpool on the edge of the relegation places while it takes Burnley to 86 points, and the Clarets could have clinched the second automatic promotion place on Saturday, if third-placed Derby hadn't won 2-0 at Doncaster in the late game.

One more win from their three remaining games will do it for Burnley however, while even a draw may be enough to take the slot away on goal difference from Derby, who are assured of a playoffs position.

Leicester City have already been promoted to the top flight and can win the Championship with one more victories from their three remaining games, after a 1-0 triumph at home over Queen's Park Rangers on Sunday.
